Green Urbanization Unsegregated waste can be fatal
Municipal waste is the term applied for waste that needs disposal right after they are generated.
Sustainable Alternate Fuel (SAF) is a high purity Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) produced from Municipal Solid Waste (MSW). It is designed as a greener and cleaner alternative to conventional fuels like coal, supporting industries in reducing their environmental footprint while maintaining operational efficiency.
Unlike hazardous-based fuels that are restricted to specific applications, SAF is permitted by the Government of India for routine usage across multiple industrial sectors. SWM Rules 2026 mandate industries to replace from 5% to 15% of conventional fuel consumption with RDF. This makes it a scalable and compliant fuel solution aligned with India’s sustainability goals.
SAF enables industries to convert waste into energy through structured recycling and preprocessing systems. Along with SAF, by products like Compost and Green Construction Aggregates are made. By reducing landfill dependency and promoting resource recovery, SAF contributes to the development of a circular economy where waste is transformed into value. GGEPIL has developed an integrated ecosystem to support SAF production and utilization across industries.
GGEPIL has developed an integrated ecosystem to support SAF production and utilization across industries.
GGEPIL is in the planned phase of developing integrated Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) management systems, with a focus on both processing and disposal. The company aims to strengthen its partnerships with municipal corporations across the country to deliver efficient, scalable, and sustainable waste management solutions.
This planned approach centres on the adoption of advanced waste processing technologies to convert MSW into valuable resources such as Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF), Compressed Biogas (CBG), compost, and green construction aggregates. Through these initiatives, GGEPIL seeks to ensure environmentally responsible waste treatment, maximize resource recovery, and significantly reduce dependence on landfills.
